Dreams Lost and Found

It's not always that we choose the dream, but that the dream chooses us. We are taught and told all our young lives to "dream big" and "reach for the stars." Okay. For how long? When do we get to a point when we realize, it's just not going to happen?

We never anticipate obstacles, and mountains beyond our ability to climb. The solace some would say is in the effort, a pat on the back, "You gave it your best." When a dream gets lost, then what? My faith in Jesus Christ has taught me that we are not alone to ponder our own destiny. He has already established it before we were born.

Therefore, when I look back at the many years of hard work and struggle in the midst of insurmountable odds, one thing shines clear...whatever was lost gives way to something better.

Whatever energy that was spent, means new, and lean muscle for what the Lord had dreamed. With Him, we can never come away empty. This is faith beyond our feelings.

It's been almost nine years since I last posted to this blog. I actually almost forgot about it. I have shed a lot of tears, had many heartbreaks, had more down days than I can count. And yet, through it all, the grace of God loved me to never let go. I exchanged my plans for His.

I learned the things that are most important are not material. Love.God's love for us and the love we show to each other.

When you experience pain up close, you're coming out one of two ways. Bitter or better. I am happy to say, I am the latter.

Cartoon Or Animation?

Writer's Thoughts
What is the difference between a cartoon and an animation? When you say 'cartoon,' perhaps, the first image that comes to mind is of something such as Bugs Bunny, or Spongebob Squarepants. Then, if you say animation, the image may be Toy Story or The Incredibles...I think there is a conspiracy amongst adults. Why? Secretly we love animations. But we don't want them called cartoons.

"Mom are you watching a cartoon?" "No, dear, it's an animated film."

There is a difference. We think. Or, at least pretend.

In technical terms, being in animation. See, I said 'animation.' There is a difference in the process and the look between a classic-rendered cartoon and a digital animation. Roget's Thesaurus expounds on 'cartoon' as this; a sketch, drawing, caricature, comic strip, funnies...Am I splitting hairs? Is this apples and oranges? Yes. Cartoon apples and animated oranges.

Animation, simply means, the illusion of motion.

Animation is bringing things to life. It can be a cartoon-like look or realistic digital. It can be a painterly Monet-style, or a darkly colored Rembrandt-style. Animation is art that moves. Which is why it can be enjoyed at any age.

Go ahead, let the kids call everything 'cartoons.' And, we adults will say 'animation.' But one day we grown-ups might get to the point where we just don't care what people think of our enjoyment of...art that moves with color.

Candle Dance

Writer's Thoughts,
This is the opening scene to Candle Dance. This story is still in the writing phase, but I am very pleased at the how the script is progressing. One thing I've learned is, there are times a writer may have to go through many sketches, before hitting on something that has the possibility of really resonating with an audience. I think this story is just that. More coming up soon.

I have been very busy writing some new animated project series. I'm excited about the progress and can't wait to reveal the upcoming clips that will air here and for download on myxer.com under "pixeltunes."
